sheriff's office says that a deputy had no choice but to shoot a man who charged at him while holding a knife. a concerned father called 9-1- 1 for help friday morning. because he his 28 year-old son was acting bizarre. this happened at a residence on frederick's and lane in dublin. the first deputy on scene had only seconds to react after stepping out of his patrol car. the man who was shot is expected to survive. authority say that they had previous disturbances involving the same person. >> 100 people from newtown, connecticut are joining thousands and the nation's capital today for a gun control march. gun-control

advocacy groups joined several charges in organizing the march after the massacre in new town. 20 students and six teachers died from gunfire in that tragedy. the group is planning to march to the washington monument at 8:00 this morning following a rally. >> in the south bay this morning, a big turnout is expected for a gun buyback the event. the latest effort is to get weapons off the streets. kron4 mike pelton joins us live from san mateo. >> the funds are limited so they can distribute it how much money you will receive based off of what you bring them. they're asking for you to bring your guns on loaded. they do want to place them in the trunk of your car. >> bryan stow, the giants

fan who was severely beaten at a dodgers stadium game in 2011 is back in the hospital this morning suffering from life-threatening blood clots. stow's family says that he had a large blood clot in his legs that made its way to his pelvis. brian is now on powerful blood thinners, and doctors say that they're surprised if the clot did not kill him. stow is expected to be in the hospital through the weekend. >> 49ers wide receiver michael crabtree will not face sexual assault charges. the announcement came friday night from the san francisco district attorney's office. they say the police department's

investigation is complete and that no charges will be filed against crabtree at this time. crabtree was accused of assault after an alleged incident at a san francisco hotel the morning of january the 13th. >> the 49ers released this statement, stating " we are pleased to learn of the san francisco district attorney's announcement following a thorough review of the matter. michael and the team cannot put this behind us and 04. to the arrest of one girl and another one was sent to the hospital and oakley. school officials say a 17 year-old girl at oakley freedom high school was attacked by another student just after 11 thursday morning. the victim was airlifted to the hospital with a concussion. a 16 year-old student was arrested a short time later for the attack. officials said the attack began with three messages were sent between the two girls on the social network insight instagram. >> the chief operating officer of one of the highest tech companies in the bay area has resigned after being accused of sexual harassment. keyrabois was thkeith rabois wae

coo at the mobil pavement company, a square. he says that he is being blackmailed by a former lover who also worked at the company. and a lengthy block post, rabois says, that he was contacted by a lawyer representing the accuser, he demanded " millions of dollars " for a lawsuit would be filed. rabois decided to resign to save the company from a distraction which the lawsuit might bring. he admits it was a mistake to remain involved with the accuser, but maintains, that the relationship was consensual.

>>an egyptian judge sentenced 21 people to death today it for their roles in a riot at a soccer game. 74 people died in the riot last february, and more than 1000 were wounded. it was unclear whether sports rivalries or political strife costa deadly clash now known as the " massacre at port saa- eed. " the delivery of the verdict this morning led to another violent protests. 22 people were killed, including two egyptian security force members.

fellow teammates. school officials say that they have a very strict policy prohibiting hazing and abusive behavior. the school's principal says the coach was not involved in the alleged harassment. however, officials say that he is being held responsible because the players were under his supervision. >> san mateo county deputies are beefing up patrols at a millbrae middle school. that is because an attempted abduction right outside the school on wednesday. taylor middle school officials say a man tried to convince an 11 year-old student to get into his car. >> school officials have since sent notices every parent in the district, advising them to be on alert. the suspect is described as a man of middle eastern descent between 30

and 40 years old. he has a shaved head and was driving a dark green four-door sedan. >> an attempted kidnapping an antioch has parents and teachers on high alert. on thursday, a man tried to lure a fifth grade student into his car outside of such terror elementary school. the man said that he was sent by a family member to pick up the still in. but the boy walked away. school officials say that this is a reminder for teachers and parents to talk to their kids about what to do when they are approached by a stranger. the suspect is described as a white man with gray hair and gray stubble, last seen driving a light blue, 1970's car. >> and as san jose, the
